I really like laughing. Laughing’s my favorite! (Little Elf joke for ya.) I prefer comedy movies and TV shows and I’m a sucker for a really funny comedian.
I like to think I’m a fairly witty person with good taste in comics, though. I’m not a fan of ones who are super dirty just for the sake of it. I truly believe that if you’re a funny enough person, you don’t need bad language and degrading jokes to make people laugh. That being said, I can usually overlook the language thing if their jokes are otherwise pretty clean.
My friend Erin introduced me to Jim Gaffigan when I was a teenager and I was instantly hooked. He is probably my favorite comedian right now. He’s so incredibly funny and puts out new stuff pretty consistently.
We also got the opportunity last year to see Jerry Seinfeld live on our anniversary trip! It wasn’t really planned, but we’re so glad we got to see him and he was of course hilarious. Oh and the only “What’s the deal with…” joke he did was in a mocking-himself manner. I thought that was pretty cool! We did sit next to a girl who really only knew him from his web show: Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and didn’t laugh the entire time even though this was like her 2nd or 3rd time to see him. It was a little heartbreaking and awkward to be busting out laughing the whole time next to someone who would just smirk every once in a while.
One of our favorite things to do on road trips when we’ve exhausted all of our playlists is to Pandora a comedian and listen to that instead! We usually do Jim Gaffigan radio and get a lot of Brian Regan, Dane Cook, Daniel Tosh, and Aziz Ansari, who are also some of our favorite comedians so it works out!
Ok I’ll stop rambling about this. It is truly one of my favorite things though!
